And howdy to you denco-ga
The following message follows
Error 1328. Error applying patch to file
C:\Config.Msi\PT7395. It has probably been updated by
other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch.
For more information contact your patch vendor.
Hope this is useful!
Thank you.

I believe the non-kosher copies of OfficeXP require you to download
the ORK administrative updates.

this happened to me also, you get the error that the files you are
trying to patch has already had a patch applied to it, and it then
fails. The only way around it is to download the administrative update
from the link above, and to create an administrative install of
Office.
Its not as hard as you think, first you uninstall office from your
computer, copy the CD contents from where you are installing from onto
the hard drive into a folder. Then download the administrative update,
and apply that to your install folder you created. This will apply the
patch to that folder.

Burn the contents of the folder to a CD, and use it to install office
in the future. You will have office installed with that service pack
already installed each time you reinstall office.

you can get the full details of this from:

Hmm. I wasn't thinking of patching an "administrative installation
point" just downloading the "administrative update", where you
download the entire service-pack and then install it (as opposed to
using the intelligent updater that saves bandwidth by only downloading
part of the update).

Anyway, if you have a fast connection this is worth a try:

double-click the msi files when you're done.

When trying to apply patch MAINSP1 and MAINSP2ff I get
the following message.

The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows
Installer service because the program to be upgraded
may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a
different version of the program. Verify that the program
to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have
the correct upgrade patch.

oh yeah - I've seen that error too, but only with the smaller 5mb msi
file, not the larger 40mb msi file.
