What happens when you call the number?

You will get a voice message: the number you are calling can not be
reached from your calling area.
Normally some toll-free numbers can only be reached within or outside
a particular area. For example, some Canada's toll-free numbers can
only be reached within Canada. I am trying to find a way to call these
kind of numbers from USA. Thanks.

Would you mind telling me what the number is? I am in Canada, and
could phone and ask if they have any alternate numbers which you can
call from the States.

I had asked my friend to do this already...there is no alternative
phone number. thanks very much.

I know this doesn't help, but you can call some Canadian (and U.S.)
toll-free numbers from parts of Europe by dialing 001 followed by the
area code and the number. Such calls aren't toll-free, however.

If you actually dile 1-800-collect and then the number that you want
either in the U.S. or in Canada it will be free. You can even call
from a pay phone without putting in a quarter.
