My dear wife is the computer whizz (I like to think of myself as "the
creative one") but she feels that I should be learning how to problem
solve myself. Think I'll have to tell her that I feel she should be
learning how to take tire pressures and to fill the screen washer
fluid but thats another matter!!!
OK heres the question as succinctly as I can phrase it. Please bear in
mind that I am (despite the jesting) reasonably familiar with using a
PC; its more the setting it up and what the terminology means!! We
recently switched from one PC (Dell) to two linked in a network. Both
in our home office. The two PC's are a new Dell (I think its a New
Dimension 8300) and an e-machine T2080.
They are both linked to one telephone line and both have Windows XP
configuration. Everything works fine, we can both be online at the
same time, but whether we are or its me alone (I have the e-machine),
MY connection fails about every 15 to 30 minutes. It only happens on
mine, never on the Dell which is the "primary" PC. It can very easily
be reconnected in the usual way but is enormously irritating and
frustrating. Do you think I need a Dell also, or a new wife perhaps,
with more PC knowledge and able to check her own tire pressures??!!
Thank you
