Hi there,
Hisab means to count, calculate or reckon. In a religious context it
is found in the phrase "al-Hisab" which means "The Reckoning".
Reckoning
---------
al-Hisab -
Literally, 'Reckoning'. The Day of Judgement is called in Arabic 'The
Day of Reckoning' (Yawm al-Hisab), among other names (see verse 27 of
Surat Ghafir). The Qur'an gives a considerable amount of detail about
the Day of Judgement: in particular, two styles of judgement, with
scales and with books, are mentioned. See, for example, verses 8 and 9
of Surat al-A'raf and verses 7-12
of Surat al-Inshiqaq.

Says the Shaykh Abu Ja'far: Our belief concerning the reckoning
(al-hisab) is that it is real. Some of it will be undertaken by Allah,
the Mighty and Glorious, and some by His Proofs (the Imams).

calculating etc.

Count
-----
Al-K wrote (about the year 825) one of the earliest Islamic texts on
solving equations for unknowns; it was called in Arabic: Al-kitab al
muhtasar fi hisab al-jabr wa-l-muqabala = The Condensed Book on the
Calculation of al-Jabr and al-Muqabala, where al-Jabr = restoring
(referring to the operation of taking a negative quantity from one
side of an equation to the become a positive quantity on the other
side), and al-Muqabala = comparing. The work was (for obvious reasons)
given a shorthand name - the al-Jabr, or Algebra!

They come, they go, hisab hi nahi rehta hai (we cannot keep count).

We have made the Night and the Day as two (of Our) signs: the Sign of
the Night have We obscured, while the sign of the Day We have made to
enlighten you; that ye may seek bounty from your Lord, and that ye may
know he number and count (hisab) of the years: all things have We

Allah (swt) describes Himself as sari’ al-hisab, because it is
easy for Him to count our deeds.

Search Strategy
---------------
I tried many online Arabic dictionaries, but they all use Arabic text:

So I searched Google for the word until I saw a snippet that looked
like a translation.
Best wishes,
