I have a need to use or acquire a new covection oven to dry some water saturated components. It is necessary to use electrical heating elements to do this drying due to the absence of natural gas at its intended location. I wish to reduce my electricity usage in an attempt to reduce the power costs. Are there any electrically heated convection ovens available with a built-in heat exchanger(s) which takes the heat out of the humid exhaust air and puts it into the cool intake air? I know that separate air to air heat exchangers can be purchased, but I want to find a commercial/industrial oven with system already built in. My oven with have an interior space of about one cubic meter. A satisfactory answer will include the contact information for at least one manufacturer or distributor of such an oven in the US. |

In Europe a lot of people use efficient ventless condensing clothes dryers for drying laundry. Of course you probably don't want the tumbling action. But sometimes these dryers have an accessory shelf/rack allowing you to lay out a delicate jacket or sweater and get pure convective drying. That would probably make it work for your application. Or, you can buy a condensing clothes dryer and snip the drive belt, if you prefer. Search google for condensing dryers and a lot of products show up. And when you're done with your project, hey, you have a valuable clothes dryer. |

As far as I know, Kenneth Technology import such products from the German company Votsch. You can visit their website at www.v-it.com. They manufacture humidity controlled thermal chambers and some models feature energy recovery. It may be best to directly speak to Kenneth Technology as the Votsch website is in German!
