I have a Radio Shack VHF marine radio, model MT 400.
The schematic in the manual shows IC501, which I require.
The actual chip No. is Uc10898.
I would like to purchase one or two chips, please help.

Hi, howie2348,

I have been asking several suppliers about a chip with number Uc10898
but no one seems to have it. Do you have the actual chip that you
would like to replace? Sometimes there are alternate part numbers on
the chip itself. Any other numbers or text that appear on the chip or
in the manual referring to that chip would be useful. Furthermore, do
you know what the purpose of the chip is? How many pins it has? Is it
a standard DIP? Any of this information might be helpful in tracking
it down.

Thanks a lot,
smudgy

Hi howie2348,

I wanted to let you know I did some extensive research for you on your
question. The bottom line is Radio Shack doesn't have the chip and
they have discontinued selling marine radios. I called the Ft. Worth
customer service 800# and spoke to a supervisor. I then called a
central location that sells component parts such as what you need and
they didn't have it either.

I wish I had better news for you... perhaps another researcher can
find the chip.

Regards,

tlspiegel
