I am trying to find out information on a pesticide distributor called Nations' Ag. I believe they are based in Knoxville, and know very little about them. I would like to know what they do, what type of services do they offer, how big are they, and what types of companies and products do they work with. |

Nation's AG was also involved in a pretty well known legal action (well...at least it's well known in the chemical industry) against Novartis a few years back. An article on it can be found in Chemical Week magazine for April 15, 1998. I've excerpted a bit of it below: Novartis Retreats in Face of Lawsuit; Patents "PESTICIDES SUPPLIER NATION'S AG (Knoxville, TN) has withdrawn a lawsuit alleging that EPA and Novartis blocked its efforts to register a generic version of Novartis's metalaxyl fungicide. The companies reached a settlement earlier this month. The dispute began when EPA canceled Novartis's registration for metalaxyl, thereby denying Nation's Ag the ability to rapidly register a generic version of the fungicide (CW, Jan. 21, p. 45). EPA and Novartis said at the time that it was proper to cancel metalaxyl's registration because Novartis had registered mefenoxam, a less toxic substitute. Nation's Ag argued that the effect of the decision was to shut out Novartis's competitors from registering either fungicide, since mefenoxam was under patent. "EPA had been manipulated by Novartis, which sought to continue its monopoly," says David Weinberg, an attorney for Nation's Ag." |
