Hello dm1906,

Great question. I think the actual virus (trojan) that you are
referring to is called 'W32.Pinfi' (vice Pinifi). Some of the aliases
for this infection can be found here :

TrendMicro Virus Database
http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=PE_PARITE.B

On the above page it states that their free online virus scan will
remove this from your computer :

Housecall Free Online Virus Scan
http://housecall.trendmicro.com

There is another tool available that will assist you in removing this
trojan as well, should you find the first one does not meet your needs
:

Panda Software (click on Prevention and Cure)
http://www.pandasoftware.com/virus_info/encyclopedia/overview.aspx?idvirus=18181

Please let me know how it works out for you. If you are discontent
with your current AntiVirus program, may I recommend this free
software that has saved me countless hours on numerous occasions. It's
free and comes with an email scanner as well :

AVG AntiVirus (Free Version)
http://www.grisoft.com

To assist with this answer I searched Google for :

W32.pinfi removal (used spelling variations of yours)

Thanks again for the question. Should you need further clarification
or assistance, please ask. I will do all I can to assist.
