Hi marinmom!
I found a few studies linked from the viviscal website
[ http://www.viviscalhair.com/ ]
They were conducted with the primary goal of ascertaining if hair
growth actually took place. One of them, however, published other
notes about side effects, including weight gain.
From case number five:
"4 (4.2%) patients thought they had gained weight. "
It seems that they didn't specifically record their before and after
weights, but this is just what they "thought." Considering it seems
it takes this product a few months to take effect, this number seems
trivial.
I read through a number of pages of people posting
questions/complaints about the product not workign sometimes, or
taking a long time to take effect, but nothing about weight gain. For
examples, see this message board:
Combined with the above 4.2%, it seems as though weight gain is simply
not an issue for Viviscal users.
I hope this has shed some light on your question, but if necessary, do
not hesitate to ask for clarification. Thank you for bringing your
question to Google Answers, and good luck!
Sincerely,
