Dear Safarazim ,
Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Molitor TBA appears to be the most expensive wine
sold in Germany. Few bottles are made of this rare wine, which is also
a "Trockenbeerenauslese", which is defined as " [...] wine is made
from the ripest grapes and so is the most rare, rich and expensive. It
is made from the selected harvest (auslese) of individually picked
grapes (beeren) that have been dried up (trocken) by noble rot,
resulting in a wine that is richly sweet and deep gold in colour. The
difficulty and risk of producing these wines, along with their
exceptional quality, make them among the most expensive and highly
prized wines in the world. See also Auslese and Beerenauslese.".

0.75 litre cost DM2,500 ($1,250 excluding taxes) from 1998 harvest:

Other TBA wines from private estates could be just as expensive, and
the price sometimes also depends on the harvest.
I hope this answered your question. I searched for your question in
English and German, for terms such as [German wines rarest], and for
TBAs. If you need further clarification on my answer, please let me
know. I'd be pleased to clarify my answer before you rate/tip it. |
