asus tv box video out is 7 pin mini din svhs/tv. iomega buz video in is 4 pin sv video. Don't have the asus 7 pin video out cable, nor an asus video card with 7 pin in. Presumably the asus tv box needs power coming back from the computer to power the tv tuner, there is no separate power input to the tv box. The buz works OK with composite in from a vcr and I get a good picture on the computer monitor. How can I find the pinouts for the asus 7 pin svhs/tv mini din and construct a connecting cable? I could add a dc power source from outside the tv box if I knew which connection to solder. |

Asus manuals usually give pinout guides. But I don't see their tv-box mentioned on their website -- maybe they OEM it? You can see a pinout chart for a matching video card here: http://www.asus.com/pub/ASUS/vga/nVidia/Utility/e139_agp-v3000.zip Don't know how you'd find the wiring specs for the DIN cable (do you have the cable). |

Thanks for your help snsh-ga No I do not have the din cable to examine. Thanks for the agp3000 link but that card does not have the 7 pin mini din output socket ready for asus tv box connection. Those that do and are listed on the asus tv box cardboard box are; AGP-V3000/TV, AGP-V3400TNT/TV, AGP-V3000ZX/TV, AGP-V2740/TV, 'or newer products'. The asus site will not allow me access to the http://www.asus.com/pub site or beyond so I can look at the other cards. If I simply substitute /e139_agp-v3000/tv and so on for the address you kindly supplied I get a 'not found' response. I have the asus tv box manual in book form and also found it as a .pdf file but it does not include pinouts. |
