Question ID: 244582
If a person is involved in an automobile collision and beleives that
the collision was set up for insurance fraud purposes, how does one go
about fighting the false claim to protect against increased insurance
rates? In general, does the victim have any rights to prevent the
insurance company from setting the claim against the insured's wishes?
Does the insured have the right to pick his/her own attorney to fight
the matter, or does the insured have to do what the insurance company
decides, even if it is giving into the potentially fraudulent scheme?
A good answer would provide published examples of similar situations
with their suggestions and outcomes.
