When using Norton Utilities to scan for viruses as I periodically do, an error statement comes back stating "critical error in virus scan, unable to complete" and then it stops scanning. I have never had this problem before. What can I do to correct this? | |

You are actually not using Norton Utilities to scan for viruses; you are using Norton AntiVirus. Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling Norton AntiVirus, using your product CD to reinstall? To be sure you do not currently have a virus infection before you reinstall, you can use Norton AntiVirus on line. Go to http://www.sarc.com/ and follow the "Check for Security Risks" icon link, which I see in the right column just over halfway down the page. |
