We are designing a template for our business (filename = SV.POT) in
PowerPoint 2002. We have 3 types of slides: title, regular text and a
subsection title. We have the first two as a pair (slide master &
title master) in the master view. We have the subsection title as a
stand-alone third slide in the master view with its own graphics;
Microsoft calls this the 'custom design master'.

When creating a new presentation based on this SV.POT design template, how do we
invoke the subsection title (i.e., the custom design master) within a
presentation? How do we apply that design to a specific slide?

Hello Svdh,

Hmm. The answer may well be that PowerPoint cannot do what you want. A
template can have only one (slide) or two (title and slide) master
page. There is also no apparent way to add a layout to the choices
when you "Insert Slide" [which I may guess would be your preferred
solution].

However, there are a few methods that may meet your needs. Would one
of these be suitable as an answer?
#1 - use multiple templates in your presentation
#2 - copy / paste the subsection page whenever needed
#3 - use multiple files, one per "subsection"
Each method has advantages and disadvantages. The second option may be
simplest to set up and use as well. If an answer based on these would
be suitable - please let me know.
