Hi, I'm trying to figure out the value of homes in Seattle and my zip
code specifically. To do this, I need a list of homes that have sold
within the last 12 months. Details that need to be on the list
include home address with zip code, price paid and date sold. This
will need to be a constantly updated list as opposed to a static list
for the whole year. In a pinch I could get by with just a list of home
addresses with zip code that have sold recently because I could
probably figure out the price and date through public records. By the
way, I've used the King County Recorder's Office site
(http://146.129.54.93:8193/opr/oprDefault.asp) to look up a lot of
good info, but it can't let me just look up recently sold homes for my
zip code.

Ideally this list will be free but if only paid services provide this
information I'd like to know about them too.

Thanks, and please let me know if you need clarification.

More of a tip than an answer. Sometimes archives of real estate
transactions can be found through a city or county newspaper. For
example, for the Chicago, Illinois area the "Chicago Tribune" has an
online archive of these transactions for a seven county region going
back ten years. Of course it all depends on the newspaper. I tried
the "Seattle Times" and was able to get only certain counties only
going back a couple of days. Maybe you can try the other area
newspapers.

Can you please tell me how you found real estate transactions through
the online version of the Seattle Times? I tried looking for that
type of info and must've looked in the wrong area.

Thanks!

Got to Seattle Times Website:

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/home/

In the search box on the right hand side enter "real estate
transactions":

http://archives.seattletimes.nwsource.com/cgi-bin/texis.cgi/web/vortex/search?searchType=date&period=archive&maxReturn=10&skip=0&source=search&sectionID=&query=real+estate+transactions

Unfortunately it only looks as though Snohomish County is listed. My
comment again was just a pointer as I know this information is far
from being an answer.
