Hi,

If you could provide the following information, it would be very
helpful in answering your question:

1. The exact model of your laptop.
2. The type of TV you have (ordinary TV set, HDTV, etc) and the type
of
input ports it has (S-Video, VGA, Y-Pr-Pb, etc).
3. Your operating system.

Thanks!

May I ask about your video card and driver? The problem might also be
in the video driver software and utility. You can find that out in
the Display Properties in Control Panel, in cause you don't know how.

Ah, I see Cdc below outlined the steps for enabling the TV output. If
you have tried it and it doesn't work, then your video drivers may not
be correct for your video card. Perhaps you could check your laptop's
manual to see the brand of your video card, and then you could
download the driver from the manufacturer's website.

Hook everything back up,
Right click on desktop and go to properties
Go to the tab settings, or display in XP
You should see two monitors, click on the one thats greyed out and
click apply, these directions are allitle vague, im not at my laptop
right now so i cant give exact directions. Hope this helps.

Hello,

I've hooked up both my PC and my laptop to the TV, so I can watch
downloaded movies in widescreen.
I'm using a program called TVTool, which makes it *really* easy to
switch between monitor and TV.
You can download a demo version here:
http://www.tvtool.com/
If I remember correctly, the full version was around $15.
