Hi JManley ~
I can't speak any other Google Answers Researchers, but I can
guarantee that your question wasn't ignored. Perhaps the scope of the
question was beyond finding a 'suitable' answer for you?
Consider what you asked:
(1) suggestions on why go wireless
(2) how to provide this service
(3) what to watch out for
(4) a ballpark price
(5) Can we do this ourselves??
Those are five separate pieces of information which require
researching information for you.
For instance,
(1) 'why go wireless' ... an easy, "off-the-cuff" answer would be: Do
you have guests who expect wireless? If so, isn't that reason enough?
But it's hard to tell from your question if that would suffice as an
answer.
You haven't provided enough information, such as your location (ie.,
city, state, urban, remote), the type of guests you cater to, and
other pertinent information which would enable a Google Answers
Researcher to give you in-depth information - the type of answers
usually provided by Google Answers Researchers.
(2) How to provide this service ... that would be largely dependent on
your knowledge and expertise and what you are willing to invest. There
are numerous details besides 'plugging in' a wireless network card and
setting up a network. What do you currently have? What is your present
expertise and knowledge about wireless - or even about computers? Will
you have to buy everything from scratch? Hire an expert?
As for the other information you sought, there are issues, such as
security, operating systems, etc., which should be taken into effect.
How well-versed are you in those issues?
And then there is the matter of the price you offered. For $15.00, the
Google Answers Researcher will receive $11.25 - which may make other
questions a bit more attractive to answer because they are less
complex.

It would help if you supply enough information so you get a good
answer from the Google Answers Researcher, and pay attention to the
pricing guidelines.
If you give the Google Answers Research enough information from which
to help you, and then make it worth his or her while to research for
information, products, and other issues out there to give you
first-class information and suggestions on how to either do it
yourself or what to look for if you have wireless installed for you, I
bet you will have our best Google Answers technical people go out of
their way to help. (Please forgive that overly long compound
sentence).
I hope you find this a suitable answer to this question. If you need
further assistance, please use the Request for Clarification.
