"Mayor Richard M. Daley and Martin Luther King III today celebrated
the transformation of the 31-year-old Martin Luther King Jr. High
School into a selective enrollment school focusing on college
preparation.

"This is going to become one of the finest high schools in the city of
Chicago –preparing young people of every background to become the next
generation of America's leaders," Daley said at a ceremony at the
school, 4445 S. Drexel Blvd. "I can't think of a better way to keep
Martin Luther King's dream alive."
