Question ID: 246488
I use an Interbase application (SalesLogix). When importing from
either a text file or a DBIV file, I get the following error:
"Your user name and password are not defined. Ask your database
administrator to set up an InterBase login.
Alias: KeyGenDB
Error inserting record into ACCOUNT: GetNewKeyRange: exception
occurred - Unable to establish database connection for key generation
Unknown database."

I have set up an alias via Borland BDE Administrator (ver 5.1) for my
Interbase AND the the source file from which I am importing. The
problem seems to lie with how I set up the alias on my source
database. During the import process I have been asked for a password
and the system seems to accept it ... until I get the error.

Please note: the SalesLogix Application has been opening the Interbase
database successfully.
