The good news is that you probably haven't tried some of the resources
I am listing below. The bad news is that no matter what you do, half
the time you will never be able to find someone's email without asking
them directly. Finding it is dependent on the person either
deliberately or accidentally making their information available
online.

Another technique is to search Usenet via Google Groups:

Use:
 author:firstname author:lastname 

...or use the Author field in the advanced search form:
://www.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en

You can also just search for their name using Google or other search
engines - they might have a home page with their email address on it.
Search with their name between quotes like:

"Joe Bloggs"
"Bloggs, Joe"
