Hello!

I came across this service www.changedetect.com and am interested in
finding out similar ones - merely for monitoring web page changes.
There were a couple of them earlier - spyonit and netmind, which seem
to be unavailable now.

Also, who owns ChangeDetect? I could not find any pertinent
information on the whois database.

Thanks.

Hi again,

Here's the new improved version of my answer!

There are several other services similar to Change Detect, including a
couple you have already found:

TimelyWeb (software)
http://www.timelyweb.com

Watch That Page
http://www.watchthatpage.com

InfoMinder:
http://www.infominder.com/webminder/index.jsp

Track Engine:
http://www.trackengine.com/

Web Site Watcher
http://aignes.com/
(software, like TimelyWeb)

A review of such services:
http://www.rba.co.uk/sources/monitor.htm

After making numerous searches, browsing their site and viewing Whois
records, it appears that the owners of Change Detect have deliberately
concealed their identity. While this does would not give me much
confidence in their services, they are far from unique in this aspect.

Because their Whois data is virtually identical, and I found their
address on this page at Change Detect:
http://www.changedetect.com/cd-trademark-application-monitoring.html

... my educated guess is that Change Detect is operated by Global
Technology Associates:
http://www.gtafirm.com

But it is only a guess. I have been unable to prove it.

Search strategy: checking directories like Open Directory failed, as
few of the above have bothered to get themselves listed. Basically, I
searched on a pair of several already known services, because when
they both appear on the same page, that page has a good likelihood of
being a review or directory of such sites

Best wishes,
