I am trying to find the e-mail address for one of my former students
who is currently a postgrad at Cornell in political science.  How
might I access an e-mail directory?

Hello shimel-ga,

While it's not easy to find on the main web site -- it's easier to
find in the part of the site called CUInfo (
http://cuinfo.cornell.edu/ ) -- there is a campus directory.  Not all
of the entries have e-mail addresses; presumably, a student can chose
to be unlisted.  Anyway, you can search for a person and click on his
or her "NetID" to find out what information is listed.

Technical correction: the answer should say, "... a student can choose
...", not "chose".
