I don't see how it would be possible to estimate the "area of inflamed
colon" without knowing whose colon we're talking about. Some are more
inflamed than others.

I completely agree with Pinkfreud's comment.  But what I would like to
know is an estimate/range of "area of inflamed human colon" under
limited/normal/controlled inflammatory setting.
