Hello,

I need a little more information before answering your question, but I
feel confident I know the answer.

First what operating system are you using? (Windows95, 98, 2000, XP,
etc) Your computer will tell you this on a large splash screen when
your starting up.

Second what version of DirectX are you running? To find this out
- Click the start button
- Click Run
- Type: dxdiag
- Click Ok
- If a window pops up asking you about checking drivers, click no.
(This may or may not happen)
- A window should appear called "DirectX Diagnostic Tool", near the
bottom it will say something like "DirectX Version: DirectX9.0a
(4.09.0000.0901)"

Let me know what that says.

Also please advise if this is happening in specific games or
applications, if so which ones, or if it happens whenever you try to
use a CD.

Thank You
