Have you tried emailing Google and asking them? (this is Google
Answers, by the way, which is different from the Google Search
engine).

Have you submitted your site to Google using this form?:
://www.google.com/addurl.html

And if so, how long ago?

Hi Alexam ~

As Tutuzdad noted, Google Answers Researchers are not employees of
Google. We do not have any inside information on the workings of
Google's Search Engine and its closely-guarded algorithms.

Basically Google doesn't find your URL because it is apparently not
listed. I don't know all the specifics regarding your particular site,
such as whether or not you have submitted your site to URL for
indexing and if so, how long ago, etc., but I can tell you what Google
recommends and suggests if you want to get listed.

===============================
Submitting Your Site To Google
===============================

Obviously, Google can't list your site if it doesn't know it exists.

There are two ways to get listed on Google.

1. The Add URL Page
====================

The first is submitting your URL to Google on the Add URL page here:
   - ://www.google.com/addurl.html

But the Add URL submission isn't even necessary. Google says, "it is
NOT necessary to submit your site to Google in order to be included in
our index. In fact, the vast majority of sites listed are not manually
submitted for inclusion."
   - ://www.google.com/webmasters/1.html#A1

How does Google find those sites that haven't submitted their URL?

2. Page Rank & Links To Your Site
=================================

The second way to get listed by Google requires no effort on your part
at all. It involves Google's PageRank and links to your site.

"The best way to ensure Google finds your site is for your page to be
linked from lots of pages on other sites. Google's robots jump from
page to page on the Web via hyperlinks, so the more sites that link to
you, the more likely it is that we'll find you quickly." (See:
"Submitting Your Site")
   - ://www.google.com/webmasters/1.html#A2

If you have submitted your site to Google using the Add URL tool, it
can sometimes take from 6-8 weeks to get listed.

===============================
Reasons You May Not Be Indexed
===============================

Google also explains why you may not be listed in its "I've submitted
my site to Google and it's still not listed. Why?":

       "Google finds sites through a process known
       as "crawling" the web. This involves robot
       software that follows hyperlinks from site
       to site. Google currently looks at more than
       3 billion URL's during the crawl. The process
       may take several weeks to complete."

... and explains how the Add URL tool works:

       "When a URL is submitted to Google, we look for
       it in our next crawl. If you've already submitted
       your URL, your site could easily appear in our new
       index, which will go up when the current crawl is
       completed. However, if no other site links to yours,
       it may be difficult for our crawler to find you.
       Conversely, if many sites link to your page, there
       is a good chance we will find you without your
       submitting your URL."
   - ://www.google.com/webmasters/1.html#B1

Notice again Google's reference to sites which link to yours.

Other Reasons Your Site May Not Be Listed
=========================================

  1. Your site might not have been reachable when Google tried to
index it.
  2. A technical glitch on Google's side
  3. Content on your page or links to your page changed significantly

========================
What You Can Do
To Get Listed In Google
========================

1. Complete the Site
====================

First, you need to finish the site. Clicking on two links, "Projects"
and "Tools" lead pages which are "Under Construction". Remember that
Google's responsibility is not to site owners and webmasters, but to
its visitors who use Google to perform searches.

Google strives to deliver RELEVANT search results and explains its
technology on "Our Search: Google Technology"

       "The heart of our software is PageRank™, a system
        for ranking web pages developed by our founders ..."

And further explains that PageRank:

        "PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature
         of the web by using its vast link structure as an
         indicator of an individual page's value. In essence,
         Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a
         vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at
         more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page
         receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the
         vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves
         "important" weigh more heavily and help to make
         other pages "important."

        "Important, high-quality sites receive a higher
         PageRank, which Google remembers each time it
         conducts a search. Of course, important pages mean
         nothing to you if they don't match your query. So,
         Google combines PageRank with sophisticated text-
         matching techniques to find pages that are both
         important and relevant to your search. Google goes
         far beyond the number of times a term appears on a
         page and examines all aspects of the page's content
         (and the content of the pages linking to it) to
         determine if it's a good match for your query."
   - ://www.google.com/technology/index.html

Once again, there's that reference to links to your page, and the
importance (PageRank) of those links.

2. Site and Content Guidelines
==============================

In addition to the above, Google offers suggestions and
recommendations for webmasters on how to get your site indexed.

Pay particular attention to its Design and Content Guidelines:

      "* Make a site with a clear hierarchy and text links.
         Every page should be reachable from at least one
         static text link."

On www.machinedesigncompany.com, the internal links are graphic links,
without ALT tags, and there are no static text links, as Google
specifically mentions.

      "* Create a useful, information-rich site and write pages
         that clearly and accurately describe your content."
       * Think about the words users would type to find your
         pages, and make sure that your site actually includes
         those words within it."

Your site is graphically attractive; however, search engine robots do
not "see" or index the same thing your visitor's browser software
does. Despite the highly graphical content, there is little text,
especially information-rich text, for the Googlebot to index. In
addition, what text there is doesn't always reflect those words and
phrases you have in your keyword metatags.

      "* Try to use text instead of images to display
         important names, content, or links. The Google
         crawler doesn't recognize text contained in images."

       * Make sure that your TITLE and ALT tags are
         descriptive and accurate."

I addressed the issue of the lack of ALT tags to describe the graphic
links and content of your site. All your TITLE tags say the same
thing, "MACHINE DESIGN COMPANY LLC".

3. Other Things You Can Do
==========================

Google recommends submitting your site to The Open Directory and
Yahoo!

You can submit to Yahoo! by visiting
http://docs.yahoo.com/info/suggest/, and you can submit your site to
Netscape's Open Directory Project (DMOZ) by visiting www.dmoz.org.

Google says, "Once your site is included in either of these
directories, Google will often index your site within six to eight
weeks."
  - ://www.google.com/webmasters/1.html#B2

Or you can contact Google at help@google.com and ask them why the site
isn't listed. There is no guarantee, though, that they'll answer your
inquiry. You stand a better chance by following the guidelines
regarding the design deficiencies and lack of links TO your site and
resubmitting to Google when you're ready.

========
Summary
========

There are several "reasons" cited above as to why your site isn't
listed in Google's index.

There are also several things you can do to enhance your chances of
being listed in Google, including recommendations about finishing the
site, improvements to the site's design, and links to your site.

After you have brought your site closer to those Guidelines, you can
resubmit the site to Google and wait to see if it gets indexed. Even
then, there is no guarantee the site will be listed. Google says on
the Add URL page, "We do not add all submitted URLs to our index, and
we cannot make any predictions or guarantees about when or if they
will appear."

Good luck in getting listed!
