In 1992, I was arrested for presenting false identification to a
police officer, verbally. I was in college and in a group of
protestors. I moved out of state before my arraignment and my then
boy friend who was an attourney in FL, did something called
"pre-trial maneuvers to have the case dropped(?) I'm hazy about this
because we broke up shortly there after. I called once after 6 months
had passed and asked them to see if I owed fines or what was going on
and the sheriff I spoke to said she could find nothing associated with
my SS #. In any case, I moved to a big city and when my Ga DL
expired, I never got a new one, I simply got a state ID. Now it has
been 11 years and I need to drive again. I am now married with 2
children and live in NC. My husband bought me a car yesterday and I
guess I will be going in to take a test this week, my question is...
can I find out if that bench warrant does exist, how do I do that?
Also, would I be arrested at the DMV if it was on my record?
