I am repair technician, and am installing a power connector on a Gateway Solo 1450 Notebook PC. To accomplish this, the motherboard must be exposed by removing the top half of the case. I have removed all the screws that hold the two halves of the case together and loosened the plastic clips that hold them together along the back side of the left and right rear corners. However, there is still something that's preventing the left rear corner from separating properly. If you have worked on a Gateway Solo 1450 Notebook PC, successfully separated the top and bottom halves of the case to expose the internal components, and can tell me how to free the left rear corner, then your answer to this question is welcome. |

Thanks for the comment, but the power connector is located in the right rear corner of the case. That corner separates okay -- the problem is with separating the right rear corner of the case. The the left rear corner of the case has a cooling fan and heat sink. It's more likely that one of those components is preventing the top and bottom halves of the case from separating. If that's the case, I need to know how to free it up so the left rear corner will separate properly. |

Sorry... meant to say the problem *isn't* with separating the right rear corner of the case. |

The problem is with separating the *left* rear corner of the case. |
