I was wondering what percentage of medicines in an average pharmacy
stock expire over a given time.

I presume that once stock is bought it sits in the pharmacy until it
is needed by a patient and bought. If the need was underestimated, the
excess bottles would eventually expire. My question would pertain to
any commercial (CVS, Rite Aide, Vons etc.) or government pharmacy in
general. Thanks!
