Are you looking for a specific kind of information, or do you just
want a list of manufacturers of self-cooling ice packs? Do you want to
concentrate on a certain country or area? Do let me know. Thank you.

Hello Elwa, I hadn't seen your clarification until recently.
What I found was an African manufacturer of a self-cooling ice pack,
but it doesn't cool using a push-button feature. I also found a
university article about a group project on a self-cooling container.
There's nothing yet about a manufacturer in the Far East or Southwest
Asia of self-cooling containers.

I have just found a Korean manufacturer of self-cooling container
products and other manufacturers in the United States. There does not
seem to be any other Asian manufacturer of self-cooling containers.
Would this be enough as an answer for you?

Clarification of Question by elwa-ga on 14 Sep 2003 07:57 PDT
Yes i think this will be enough for an answer and i would like to have
details about the products in North Korea and the States.

Hello Elwa,
Thank you for accepting my proposal to post my answer. I searched
several sources on the Internet for makers of self-cooling products,
and most of them are cans. Only one seems to be a maker of
self-cooling carrying cases, bags and ice packs:

Africa)

of a special cooling gel that absorbs moisture and develops cold from
it.

Dear techtor-ga,
Thank you for your effort to reach such sites but unfortunately as i
said I am looking for icepacks that doesn't need refrigiration i.e.
has certain device that initiate a rection that induce cold so it can
be used as icepacks in hot places where electercity is not available
and i was not looking for cool bottle or self can cooling invention. I
dont know if this is the ultimate or we can dig more.
Thank you and i appreciate your effort.

If you will look closely at the Kalahari products, you will see that
they can chill their products without any refrigeration. The Calabash
ice pack is I suppose poured on with water so it could become icy. The
self-cooling cans also work without refrigeration, they are not meant
to be put in the refrigerator. However, aside from these, I could not
find many other mentions of self-cooling ice packs, nor of ice packs
that use push-button action, and I'm sure if it uses such a mechanism,
then it would mean it uses refrigeration (a button would mean an
electric device, and a refrigerator is an electric device). Let me
look around for more references or products.

Hello again Elwa,
I have found other self-cooling products that are like ice packs
rather than cans. Temtro is one company in the that makes such
products. It even makes just the gel that you can put in cooling
packs, so you can make your own ice packs. Note that I am mentioning
products that do not need refrigeration at all.

Temtro - Gel ice packs, compresses, refrigerants, therapy - seller of
gel for making gel ice packs and other such materials (located in
Georgia, USA)

Another website carrying the above products
http://www.roshgo.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=IEC&Category_Code=04FREEZEZE

Tpage Business Portal
http://dir.tpage.com/19/31/
 - lists Shanghai Olive Business Portal, which claims to make a
self-cooling ice bag, but when I clicked on the link it required a
username and password to read the information.
