I used to be able to use the shift key to open a hyperlink in a new
window, instead of "hyjacking" an existing window, so that, for
instance, if I was going through an email with multiple hyperlinks, I
could have each of them open in a new window for my perusal. Now I
seem to have lost that ability, and can't get it back the way I like
it. Help!!

Hi Hofferino,

This should be quite easy to sort out. In Internet Explorer
(assuming it is version 6) go to the menu item 'Tools | Internet
Options...' and to the 'Advanced' tab (the last one). There you'll
find, under 'Browsing' a tickbox for the option to 'Reuse windows for
launching shortcuts'. I suspect that it is ticked in your case, so
untick it and now you should get a new window when you click on a
link.

I hope this helps! Let us know how you get on, and if it doesn't
fix it, please let me know by way of a Request for Clarification' so I
can look into it further.

Dear Hofferino,

You may have the problem which is discussed at:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;281679

You could try the actions described under "Resolution".

Another way of achieving what you want is to use the right mouse
button rather than the left to click on the link. This should produce
a drop-down menu including the "Open in New Window" option that you
need. Of course, it may be that this facility has gone the same way
as shift-click.

I trust this helps.
