A Stick value means that because of the limited number of radio
stations in any market, their is a value placed on a station that
doesn't have any audience or income. Companies like Kagan do this type
of evalutation. I am looking for the Stick value of a class B FM
station that is licensed to Philadelphia

Hello -

The stick value isn't solely geography-dependent. Can you disclose
any additional information about this radio station?

Thanks,

On the East coast their are two classes of FM Stations: Class A and
Class B.
Each market has a base price for a station. I am looking for the class
B base station price. It will probably be somewhere between a low of
$70 million to a high of $120 Million. People like Kagan and BIA do
this type of evaluation.

I have gotten a general estimated number from one of the research
firms. Would you like me to post that as an answer? This is probably
as best as it will come without doing an actual evaluation of a
particular station.

Hello -

If you choose to rate this answer, please do so after asking for any
necessary clarification/information. Thanks for your understanding.

Per Kagan World Media company, the base price of a class B FM station
in Philadelphia, PA, with a good signal, is about $65-$70 million USD
in today's market.  This is a general estimate from a representative;
she also said that a harder number could be obtained by doing a
specific evaluation of the particular radio station in the area.

Is there a particular station that you can identify by name? "Stick
value" depends on many factors from tower placement to condition of
the broadcasting facility. It would help a Researcher to know any
other factors regarding this query.
