Hi
We have just bought an established business and are undergoing
rebranding and renaming exercise.
The business is currently a stockfeed and saddlery store in our local
area. We will soon be launching our website which will make it much
more national.
The store is currently called Kumeu Stockfeed and Grain.
We would like to shorten it and bring in the idea of the saddlery and
also all the rural supplies we will be bringing in, such as fencing
etc. The goal is to become an all encompassing rural supplies store.
A one stop shop.

We need some more ideas for a name.

Regards
Karen

Without trying to be cheesy/corny.. the first thing that came to my
mind when you said "one stop shop" were places like Wal-Mart and
K-Mart, etc. How about "Rural*Mart?"

Apparently, someone has currently thought of this, because
ruralmart.com is currently owned-- but it is available for sale-- so
although someone has thought of it (besides me) no one is currently
using it, which is the important part. For instructions on how to
buy it, you can try here: http://www.ruralmart.com/

Other suggestions include:

Lock, Stock & Saddle

A to Z Country Supplies

Let me know if you liked the tone of these or where they were going..
I can be corny sometimes, but also quite creative! :) I'll try
thinking of more ideas for you as well.

I personally don't care for descriptive names on the web, because
there are so many businesses that you distinguish yourself and give a
more personal look by using a distinctive, unusual name. As I buyer
I'm more likely to develop loyalty to a business named Kumeu than a
website named horseproducts.com. So, I say keep the "kumeu" and maybe
just tweak or delete the "stockfeed and grain" which sounds a little
redundant anyway.

starrebekah-ga - love the cheesy ones!!
Lock Stock and Saddle is quite funny! keep up the creative work :)

snsh-ga - I definately agree with your thoughts on loyalty. I would
love to get rid of the Stockfeed and Grain bit, it is redundant. A
short one word name would be perfect. There are plentry of stores out
there whose name is not reflective of the business but everyone knows
them all the same.

I wonder whether the office supply chain "Staples" would mind if you
called your business "Stables." ;-)

Kumeu is a small town in New Zealand. Which is why they want a
different name for a national presence.
