Hi there,

When I do a search for "bienes raices en mexico", your site comes in
at about number 28.

You will notice that many of the pages that rank higher than yours
have a snippet of text in the results, and that snippet contains the
phrase searched for. Your site doesn't have such a snippet in the
results, because the phrase does not appear in the body of your page.

Google looks at many aspects when determining ranking in search
results. The best way to optimize your page for this phrase is the
following:

Have the phrase in the page title
---------------------------------
You have already done this, and this is the reason why your page
appears in the results, albeit at #28. If the page title is shorter,
perhaps just "bienes raices en mexico" then Google will rank it higher
for that phrase.

Have the phrase in a Heading tag
--------------------------------
These are HTML tags like <H1>Heading</H1>. As long as you use them
normally, with no more than one per paragraph on the page, then Google
will rank your page higher for the words in the Heading tag. Using
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) it is possible to customize the headings
and make them look more attractive.

Have the phrase in the normal text
----------------------------------
At least once, and preferably two or three times, have the phrase
appear in the regular text of the page, as part of normal sentences.

Do all three!
-------------
It looks suspicious having a word or phrase in the title, but not
elsewhere in page. While this can happen naturally, in general a web
page with useful information for web searchers will have the words
that appear in the title or headings also appearing in the regular
text.

More tips
---------

- Try to optimize for only one word or phrase per web page. If you
want to have your site do well for other words or phrases, you need to
create extra pages that are related to the words or phrases.

- Link text makes a difference. If another site is linking to yours,
rather than the link saying "Remax Plus", if possible get the link to
say "bienes raices en mexico". Or at the very least, have the phrase
appear next to the link.

- Links to your page, regardless of what they say, will improve
PageRank, one of the factors Google uses to determine search result
ranking. Your current PageRank will be due to your listng at Yahoo.
Try if you can to get listed in Open Directory as well:

Getting other sites to link to yours, especially if it is a business
site, is the hardest aspect of search engine optimization, but also
the aspect that pays off the best.

- Meta tags. They are fine as they are. Search engines pay little
attention to them, but they won't do any harm either.

Merely placing the phrase in the regular page text somewhere should be
enough to get your site into the top 10, although it can take up to
two months for the change to happen in Google search results.

I have covered the normal ways of achieving a higher ranking. It is a
lot easier than many SEO firms would have you believe. If there is any
aspect that need explaining in greater detail, just ask for a
clarification and I'll get back to you.

Best wishes,
robertskelton-ga
