Does bank in USA accept a torn cheque?

Hi fictionk,

This is impossible to answer because each bank is going to have a
different policy.  If it's torn or ripped just a little bit and all
the information is readable without a tear then it might be no
problem.  The best thing is to call the bank you are doing business
with and ask them, because all banks will not have the same criteria.

You can also take the torn check into the bank and ask them
personally.
