I want the specification and part number of the fuel injectors in a 1996 - 2000 Chevrolet 5.7 litre 330 HP motor with Vortec L31 heads and SFI (sequential port fuel injection) I particularly want the injector flow rate. I believe these motors powered or were options in Chevrolet pickups and possibly other GM vehicles. I believe other versions of the 5.7 Vortec motor produced 255 HP and 307 HP, my question is not related to those motors. |

hi, Marren Fuel Injection (http://www.injector.com) are always my first stop for anything like this. If you were to call them - (203) 732-4565 - they would probably be able to hook you up with a suitable injector. According to their site, flow rate can be obtained by the equation: Injector Flow Rate (lb/hr) = (Engine HP x BSFC) / (Number of Injectors x 0.8) where BSFC is "brake specific fuel consumption" and can be roughly approximated at 0.5. So, (330 x 0.5) / (8 x 0.8) gives a flow rate of 25.78 lb/hr. Hope that helps. |
