I am looking for a program that allows you to VIEW the hidden form
fields in applications on your computer. For example where a program
has a form value for Password of '*****', you use the program to
figure out what '*****' represents.

I am NOT looking to find out how to view hidden form values in
webpages, that is easy enough (view source). I need one for windows
applications.

I used to have this program on my computer, but I forgot it's name
(and cant seem to find it-- I dont really know what the search for).
If anyone could fill me in, I would be very grateful.

There is a little utility for this: Snadboy's Revelation.

The official download page for the software is

http://www.snadboy.com/

but the site seems to have problems today. You can download it at the
following alternative location:

http://www.republika.pl/pobierz1/RevelationV2.zip

Here is a quick how-to from the product FAQ page:

"With the dialog containing the password to be revealed visible, start
up
Revelation. Left click on the 'Password Field Selector' and drag it
over the password field. Read the password in the 'Revealed Password'
field. Revelation will *ONLY* work if the password is displayed as
asterisks."

Hope this helps
