I have a PC (generic clone) running Windows 98. I have a Compaq laptop
from work with Windows 2000, which I use with a docking station. The
docking station and the generic PC share a monitor, and an Alps
Glidepoint natural keyboard/touchpad using a switching box. The
arrangement has been working well for months. All of a sudden, the
keyboard has suddenly remapped itself for the PC, and badly at that.
The ESC key, the DEL key, and the cursor navigation keys that are to
the right of the letters and to the left of the number pad, no longer
work at all. Ctrl-Tab works like Alt-Tab used to, and there are some
other Ctrl-(key) combinations that work like traditional Alt-(key)
combinations, but there does not seem to be a pattern. Alt-Tab behaves
somewhat like Ctrl-Tab, but Alt no longer works with any of the other
keys that Alt should be working with.

What is really strange is that when I switch the box to the laptop,
all the keys work fine. Any ideas?

Hi zonuts - Have you performed a virus scan on the PC? If so, and it
came up clean, I'd suggest getting a second opinion, such as AVG or

One of my friends had a similar problem. Reinstall the driver for the
input device.

Hope this helps.
