Question ID: 249071
How do you remove the dead links from the search engine. We have
determined that we have about 30% dead links that were built in 2000.
This is based on over 800000 pages. I would hope over the years
someone would have built a software package to do this or it is
already part of the product.
Answer
There is no answer at this time.

Web search engines like Google remove dead links when they update
their entire index. Is there any reason why you can't just wipe the
old index and create a new, fresh index of your 800,000 pages?
