Lorigay -- Polybutylene is indeed used as a reservoir liner, but because it's manufactured in narrow widths it's only used commercially in smaller applications. Commercial firms with large reservoirs prefer using polyethylene or polypropylene for large applications. Here are a couple of references, one in the U.K. and the 2nd in the U.S.: Geosynthetic Technology Ltd. "Liners for Golf Course Lakes, Ponds & Reservoirs" http://www.geosynthetic.co.uk/golf.htm GeoChem, Inc. "Geomembrane Products" http://www.geocheminc.com/geomembranes.htm Polybutylene sheet suppliers are listed for the U.K. here: British Plastics & Rubber Online "Semifinished plastics film/sheet" http://www.polymer-age.co.uk/directry/category/7785.htm Polybutylene is sometimes referred to as PBT, the acronym for the full name of the chemical. Suppliers in the U.S. are listed here: MatWeb "Polyester Manufacturers" http://www.matweb.com/reference/polyestermfr.asp Google search strategy: reservoirs + liners polybutylene + suppliers Best regards, Omnivorous-GA |
