Having worked in the used book industry, I picked up a bit of
knowledge about collectible newspapers.
An old newspaper has the highest value when it is perfectly preserved
(with no pages missing), rare, and when its date has special meaning,
or its headlines are of historic importance. Obviously, the Kennedy
assassination was an event of historic importance, but your articles
do not meet the other two criteria. If you have clipped articles
rather than entire newspapers, that would decrease the value greatly,
since collectors generally want intact newspapers in good condition.
Millions of people (myself included) saved newspapers and magazines
related to the assassination of JFK, so the rarity factor is not
there, and probably will not be for many years.
For insurance purposes, it is likely that your collection, meaningful
though it is to you, may have very little cash value.
