I'll throw this out there because I've tried to research this but
haven't gotten very far. What I'm looking to find out is what Tiger
Woods' workout program (strength, flexibility, cardio, other) consists
of? There seems to be some scattered information on the Web but I
haven't come up with much that has any substance. Pretty much the
only info I have come across is in his book "How I Play Golf" and in
the following article:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2001/01/13/sgwood14.xml

I know that Tiger's workout program is kept under pretty tight wraps
but I figured I would ask here anyway to see if anyone might have any
more information. The specifics that I am looking for that I would
consider to be a satisfactory answer include at least a few of the
following:

-What types of lifting exercises Tiger does, frequency of his
workouts, numbers of sets and repetitions and amount of weight
-What specific types of stretches Tiger performs, how often he
stretches, how long he stretches for, does he do active stretching vs.
passive stretching, etc.
-What other types of body work Tiger has done (e.g. chiropractic,
massage, structure work, etc.)

I certainly don't need to know everything but am looking for more
information than I currently have.

Greetings Jpbischke:

Although I could not locate a blow-by-blow description of Tiger's
fitness regimen, this link may be of interest to you.

Ernie Els' Guide to Golf Fitness
[Ernie Els is second only to Tiger Woods]
"Els developed his program--geared specifically to address a golfer's
strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular system--with David Herman,
the fitness trainer who helped Els shed the 15 pounds he credits with
the resurgence of his game and better health overall. Though many of
the exercises--all of which Els himself demonstrates in
photographs--require gym equipment, others don't, and while all
provide a workout, the program can be easily adjusted in its
difficulty and demands to fit any level of desire and ability."

I hope another Researcher will be able to locate the entire Tiger
Woods workout program for you.

Best regards,

An interesting follow-up to this. This month's Golf Digest has a
story entitled "Tiger Woods' Workout Program Revealed" or somethng
like that. Anyway, it's a bit of a teaser because there aren't many
details revealed in the story but it was funny to read through the
article and see how much difficulty the author had in trying to answer
this question. He finally got someone to speak and while there isn't
a ton of information, it was interesting. I don't think I can include
the article here because of copyright but if you're interested, check
it out.
