Hello oraccomp-ga:
Unfortunately, you're just barely missing out on some festivals that
take place later in June, such as the "Kings and Queens"(it starts
June 7, 2004, in Canterbury), the Dover Proms concerts, the Canterbury
Festival, which is held in October, and jousting tournaments in Kent,
which are held in July and August.
Because Kent is right near Dover and Canterbury, I've included some
activities and tourist attractions there, too. It is really much too
early for concerts and shows to be scheduled as far in advance as June
2004, but I did locate some sources where you can find concert
information at a later date.
Beautiful Hever Castle and Gardens in Hever Village (next to Kent), is
open to the public from April - October (garden tours are "weather
permitting"):
http://www.hevercastle.co.uk/
From the site: "This thirteenth century castle, once the childhood
home of Anne Boleyn, is furnished with many Tudor portraits, furniture
and artefacts [sic]. In 1903 William Waldorf Astor bought Hever Castle
and restored the castle to how you will see it today. He also created
the gardens including the yew maze . . . and the Italian Garden, as
well as building the Tudor Village (now a residential conference
venue). More recent introductions include the adventure playground and
the water maze (open April-October) weather permitting - both of which
are firm favourites with the children!"
Please note the castle is open for tours during inclement weather;
only the garden is closed when the weather turns foul.
The cost is £8.40 per adult, or you can choose the group rate option,
if your group includes 15 or more children. Group rates:
Gardens & Castle: Cost per Adult £7.20; Garden Tour Only: £5.80
Gardens & Castle: per Senior Citizen; Garden Tour Only: £6.70 £5.50
Gardens & Castle:Cost per Student (15-19) £6.20; Garden Tour Only:
£5.40
Gardens & Castle:Cost per Child (5-14) £4.40; Garden Tour Only: £4.20
The "Events" link for Hever notes "Half Term Events," but no details
are given.
Your group can also enjoy lunch at the castle. Contact Nicky Rees at
01732 861701 or via email bookings@hevercastle.co.uk for more
information.
The Howletts wild animal park:

which is a charitable trust, and which is open nearly every day of the
year.
Click on "Find Us" at the bottom of that page to find details on each
park. Howletts is detailed on the left of that pop-up page. It is in
Kent, and is open every day except Christmas. Call 01303 264647 for
more information.
At the DoverWeb Dover Kent England Web site, see a list of tourist
attractions:
http://www.dover-web.co.uk/visitorattractions.asp
including the Kent Battle of Britain Museum:
http://www.dover-web.co.uk/visitorattractions_kbobmuseum.asp
According to the site: "The Kent Battle Of Britain Museum can be found
at Hawkinge Airfield, and contain's [sic] the UK's largest and most
important collection of 1940's related items. There is a wealth of
World War II items on display including British and German flying
equipment, artifacts recovered from shot-down aircraft, weapons,
vehicles, and lots more . . ."

The Carmelite Forum will be holding a conference at The Friars,
Aylesford Kent, England, 4th-6th June 2004. (See clickable committee
member names for more information.):

On the agenda for that forum: "During the weekend there will be a
variety
of workshops on themes such as: Queen, Beauty of Carmel and the woman

foot of the cross; Popular devotion to Mary and pilgrimage in the
Carmelite
tradition: Mary in the gospels and day-to-day life; Carmelite art and

checking back there for future events.

Yes, no one else seemed to be taking on your question, so I decided to
give it a go! It certainly would have been preferable if someone in
that part of England could have tackled it, but things don't always
work out that way!
Since I answered your question way back in September, I figured a few
more events might now be listed on the Web, so I searched again, using
the search strings I'd used before. The only newly listed event I
found is:
An artist's exhibition at Whitstable Biennale in Kent in June 2004. No
precise date is given yet, but keep checking back at:
http://www.daniellee.com/108w.htm
(This seems to be a video presentation -- I can't quite fathom just what it is.)
You can also keep checking the University of Kent's "Public Events"
calendar to see if any performances are planned for that date.
(Nothing for June 6, 2004 is listed as of now, but that could
change.):
http://www.kent.ac.uk/arts/
I also found that terms are ending at the University between June 4-10th:
http://www.kent.ac.uk/about/termdates.php
But I couldn't find any graduation ceremonies listed.
This link:
http://www.kent.ac.uk/news/
is for University news and press releases, so you may want to check
there periodically.
I also suggest you keep checking, using the search strings from my
original answer, because as we move closer to next spring/summer, more
events should be announced.
But right now, it looks as though your charity event won't have much
competition. (I had first thought your group was looking for things to
do in the Kent area on that date!)
I hope you have a great turnout at your event, and that you raise a
lot of money and awareness for your group's cause.
