I need to get in touch with various people who govern homeowner
associations in California. These associations are usually governed by
a Board of Directors who follow a set of CC&R -- the rulebook. Often
the Board hires a manager; sometimes not.

So I need to find a list of people who either manage or who run a
homeowner association in California.

I located a registry that provides databases of approximately 32,000
Community Associations located in California.

Each database is provided in "ASCII text, comma delimited and Excel"
formats for easy import into virtually any data management program.

Included in the database is:
CORPNAME","CAREOF","ADDRESS","CITY","STATE","ZIP5","COUNTY",
"ADDRTYPE","CORPSTATUS","CORPDATE","FILEDATE"

CORPNAME - Association’s corporate name 
CAREOF - Designates the name of the President or Registered Agent 
Street or P.O. mailing address 

The association president may have elected to receive all association
related mail addressed, in their name, at the address of the
Registered Agent, normally the Community Association Manager.

Here is a sample listing:

"LA JOLLA VILLAGE HOMEOWNERS' ASSOCIATION, INC.","WAYNE L

Is there something that's free that gives contact info for people who
run these homeowner association? I need about 50 contacts or so.

I’ve located over 50 homeowners associations for you and in the
process I discovered a method for you to do further research on your
own. I initially searched on [ california "homeowners association" ]
and discovered several organizations that are associations for
homeowner associations. The members of these organizations are the
people you want to reach, but as Bobbie7 indicated, they charge a lot
of money for access to their membership directory. Many of them offer
aN option of becoming an associate member and being listed in their
directory of businesses offering services to homeowners associations.
This may be of interest to you.

In my initial search I had also noticed that the search results
included some newsletters or meeting notices from specific homeowner
associations. Since you said that 50 contacts would meet your needs I
decided to try to identify these one by one by searching for [
california "homeowners association" meeting. This strategy worked well
and the first 20 listings below were derived from this strategy.

In the process of following the links for individual homeowner
associations, I discovered that some of the links led to longer lists
and directories of community and neighborhood and homeowner
associations. I’ve included the results from some of these searches. I
believe that you could find additional contacts following this
strategy.

I hope that you find this information useful. Please ask for
