Hi aquarius21-ga,

We know that the rate is "0.2 micrograms per kilogram per minute", so
let's convert this into ml/hour.

Since the patient weighs 70kg, we can convert the rate into "70*0.2
micrograms per minute" or "14 micrograms per minute" .

100 micrograms equals 1ml, so 1 micrograms equals 1/100 (=0.01) ml and
thus 14 micrograms equals 14*0.01=0.14 ml. In other words, the rate
can be rewritten as "0.14ml per minute".

Finally we need to convert this rate (ml/min) into ml/hour. Since 60
minutes go into one hour, the rate is equal to "60*0.14 ml per hour",
so the answer to your question is:

The infusion should run at a rate of 8.4ml/hour.

If you have any questions, feel free to request a clarification.

Sincerely,

rhansenne-ga.
