I want to know if there is a way to find out if safari operators for
photo or hunting expeditions in Zambia and/or Tanzania can provide
notice of last minute cancellations that can be filled by another
party willing to pay the safari cost less all deposits/fees/monies
forfieted by the cancelling party.  I have one month where I am in
country, Dar Es Saleem, from 9/11/03-10/13/03.  Ready to go and have
all my own stuff for almost any kind of excursion.  Budget around
10kUS excluding airfare which I already have.  Two persons.  Fun
people with loads of great travel stories.  Been everywhere in the
world (almost) except here.
Good luck on formulating a question for this one.  You've got all the
detaisl I can think of..

While reseraching your question, I have a emailed numerous expedition
operators with your request.

So far, I have received 2 replies which are as follows:

"We can design an itinerary for you in Tanzania or in Kenya (or both)
that would cost under $10,000.
Please let me know where you would like to go, and I'll get back to
you
with pricing by Monday or Tuesday."

Another one:

"Thank you very much for your inquiry.
We only very rarely have cancellations. However, we very often
organize safaris for people who prefer other people to join them (so
as to share the costs).
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further
questions."

I will let you you know of any further positive feedback as I receive
them.

Further to my previous clarification, having reviewed some more sites
it is becoming increasingly clear to me that there are many safari
expeditions offered at a price of $10,000 and below without you having
to wait for a cancellation.

With this in mind, I could provide you with various itineraries as an
answer to your question.

Alternatively, I'm awaiting responses to a number of emails I've sent
out with your original request.
