Hi! Thanks for the question. Here are the advantages of paying by credit card when making an online purchase. 1. Credit card payment is safer than paying by check, cash, or debit card. If you have an unauthorized charge on your credit card, under federal law your liability is limited to $50. In fact, some credit card issuers and web site operators say that under certain circumstances they will even pay this amount for you. 2. Credit Cards might be able to help you settle a dispute with an online seller. You may be able to dispute the sellers charges if the goods dont arrive or if you arent satisfied with them and return them. 3. You may save money by using a credit card if you pay it off in full when the bill arrives. 4. In addition, some credit card issuers grant you extended warranties or other advantages for purchases made with the card. You can read the details on the following link. Many online shopping sites offer no payment option other than credit card. Those who will accept a check generally will not ship your merchandise until the check has cleared that bank, which results in a delay of several days. |

You won't necessarily pay interest. "Convenience users", who pay their bills in full each month incur no interest. (Unfortunately, that's not me.) |

Why you said You won't necessarily pay interest. "Convenience users", who pay their bills in full each month incur no interest. I can't get your point. |

English must not be your first language. People do not prefer to pay interest. If they use a credit card, they will pay interest if they do not pay the bill in full at the end of the month (or billing cycle). Some people either don't care or have no choice. In any case, there is no actual preference for paying interest, it is just a drawback of using a credit card. |

The main reason why people pay for their Internet shopping with a Credit Card is that it is the easiest and, with some vendors, the only option. Sending a cheque is more long winded and, if payment is to be made to a vendor in another country, then the vendor may require an International Money Order (IMO) which are even more inconvenient and potentially more costly (depending on the value). There have been occasions when I've had to send an IMO for quite trivial amounts and the cost of the IMO had even been more than its realisable value. |
