I downloaded a little program from the www.palmgear.com site, which
came in the form of a .pgz file. Although a Google search revealed a
few hits describing such files as similar to .zip files, I could find
nothing about how they are to be uncompressed. A similar search of
PalmGear's knowledgebase revealed nothing helpful or on point. There
must be some way of uncompressing the .pgz file such that the result
is an installable file, either a .prc or a .pdb file(s).

I found the decompressor. Case closed.
