Hello reb-ga: It was a pleasure to answer your question. My extensive research could not reveal a newspaper that provide trial advertising and claims to have a large circulation. The irony with the large newspapers is that their advertising rates are very costly. So, what should you do? I will suggest you to seek the help of Newspaper advertising agencies that cater to the public rather than the companies. The advantage of these companies is that you can place your ad in a large number of newspapers for half the price or even more than 50 percent. They not only offer huge discounts but also offer to put advertisements in your choice of news papers on trial basis so that you can gauge the effects of the advertisements. One such agency is http://www.nationwideadvertising.com/ You can log on to their website and look for the rates of individual newspapers, the total circulation and other information about the newspapers. You can also sought out newspapers by large amount of circulation, by state, by your budget and much more. These advertising agencies also run SPECIALS where they offer huge discounts on advertisings and trail offers with plenty of such deals. View a trial offer by the Nation Wide Newspapers at http://store.yahoo.com/classifieds/natclasnet.html Note! Please look at the bottom ad where you can select the newspapers of your choice. Dont worry about the URL as the agency uses the Yahoo shopping cart for their order needs. The best thing about these agencies is that you can tell them to modify your ads by your needs at an extra price. Another agency is http://www.advertisingresults.com This is also a similar agency like Nation Wide Newspaper but they cater to the groups of newspapers rather than individual newspapers that allow them to cut their advertising price drastically. If you really want to get the best discount prices, you might want to try their services. You can sometimes put your advertisement in 20 newspapers for the price of one. See Sample for Advertising at http://www.advertisingresults.com/catalog/catalog.php?ID=28&Category=true&pgno=0&pagesize=200&customquery= Before coming down to this solution, I researched a lot of business oriented newspaper that have wide circulation and reasonable advertising cost. The price difference is not huge but it is quite acceptable to the average newspaper. Following are the six newspapers. San Diego Transcript http://www.sddt.com/ Hartford Business Journal http://www.hbjournal.com/ Crains Chicago Business http://www.chicagobusiness.com/ Indianapolis Business Journal http://www.ibj.com/ Bankers & Tradesman http://www.bankerandtradesman.com/ Seattle Journal of Commerce http://www.djc.com/ Useful Keywords newspaper advertising agency budget newspaper advertising newspaper directory business newspapers I hope this will help. If you are not satisfied, please clarify and I will respond. Thanks for using Google Answers and very good luck with your future venture. Best Wishers, Leader-ga. |

One man's "inexpensive" is another man's "expensive." What do you consider "inexpensive," reb? No publication with a national and/or high-income readership will have low ad rates. Publication rates have to be considered in conjunction with publication reach: If the publication has limited reach, or reaches the wrong people, then advertising in it will be truly expensive (no results) even though the ad rate may be low. As for a discounted "trial" insertion, that would seem unlikely. Rates go down as frequency goes up. One-time insertions are the most costly. |
