My friend bought a shirt from a vendor on the beach in mexico a few
years back.  He loves his shirt, but it's getting old and tattered and
he can't seem to find any more like it.    It's white, has a low cut
neck which dips down futher in a V, has a front shirt pocket and seems
to be made of a light fabric, linen maybe? I'm note sure.

shirt is a 100% cotton gauze v neck pullover.

Cotton gauze is a very beautiful and easy to care for, lightweight
fabric.  It is a very soft and cool fabric, and with very little
attention will always look great and never need ironing.  Clothing
made of this type of fabrics is very common in beach communities.

Because the fabric is preshrunk, articles of clothing made from gauze
are able to be easily ordered by size without fear of being to small
or large.
