I used to have an old DOS based program that would predict fallout
from nuclear detonations and plot it on a map of the world. However,
it got lost in a drive re-format some time ago and I can't find this
thing anywhere on-line. Anyone ever heard of suchj a thing and/or
know where I can get it?

We would probably have a better shot at finding the program you want
if you could give a few details about it, such as approximately when
the program was on the market, whether it was public domain,
shareware, or commercial software, and anything else you can remember.

Without some distinguishing details, a search of this kind is like
looking for a needle in a needle-stack. ;-)

That's about all I can remember. It ran under DOS. I got it from
some disarmemant site (I think). Seems to me that it was a US
governemnt program at one time (Asked you to enter a classification
level before it started). I realize this is a shot in the dark but
its worth a try

I have no further suggestions, so I'm leaving your question open for
other Researchers. I hope someone can find your program. If you
remember any more details, please let us know.

Not the same one but looks just as good or better. Thanks.

I know this is a very old thread but...here's the program I think you
might have been looking for, titled "Fallout" a simple nuclear
predictor. I used AirRad in a chem class but Fallout! seems more like
the one you described. Just thought I'd add the comment.
